Bryan Marks, Elder and Overseer of Music
Bryan Marks is Chairman of Mayflower Church’s Board of Elders, but it is his other title – Overseer of Music – for which he is best known. Mention the word “music” and it is Bryan’s name that comes to mind. He brings music to Mayflower Church in many forms: directing the choir at Christmas time, and overseeing the Sunday music services which blend traditional hymns with newer live music. Bryan spent his early years in Kingston, and is a graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education (with concentration in voice) from Eastern Nazarene College, and a Masters in Education from Fitchburg State College. Bryan taught for 35 years at Cohasset Middle-High School. Now retired, he lives in Scituate with his wife Sandra. They have two grown sons and one precious grandson. He has many interests, including woodworking and classic cars. David Glass, Board of Elders
David Glass serves on the Board of Elders at Mayflower Church, one of many roles he has filled at Mayflower Church. He is also a former member of the Board of Deacons; he leads Bible studies, teaches Sunday School and on occasion preaches on Sunday morning. He additionally coordinates the monthly Men’s Breakfast. David came to Mayflower after having been a Roman Catholic for almost 50 years. He met his wife Debbie in 1988; they were married in 1991 and have been members of Mayflower since then. David recalls building his foundation in faith through a Bible Study led by Mayflower Church member Ron DeVries. One of David’s other passions is sports; he is well-known as an avid Red Sox fan. Dave and Debbie live in Carver. |
Jerry Caldwell, Board of Elders
Jerry Caldwell serves on Mayflower Church’s Board of Elders, and additionally serves as Church Moderator. Jerry is a native of Indiana, along with his three brothers. He is a graduate of Wheaton College in IL, and earned a graduate degree in Social Work at Indiana University. He served for twenty-one years as an officer in the United States Army. Upon retirement from the military, he was a social worker at Signature Healthcare in Brockton for twenty-three years. He and his wife, Gail, who is the keyboardist for the church, have been married more than fifty years. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Jerry enjoys reading, singing, and traveling. The Caldwells live in Pembroke. |
Chuck Verell, Elder
Chuck Verell serves Mayflower Church as a member of the Board of Elders. He brings considerable experience to his role with Mayflower. He has been involved in several other ministries, including six years with Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and 29 years as an active Gideon. Chuck worked in the media for many years, including print (newspapers), and then transitioning to a focus on television media, marketing and station management. Since the loss of his lifelong sweetheart Jewel, Chuck spends time with his two adult children, Jason and Megan. He is a resident of nearby Duxbury, MA. Chuck is both honored and excited about his role as an Elder, where he can help reach out and fill the sails of “The Good Ship Mayflower” with the Good News of Jesus Christ. |
Marge Jean, Chair, Board of Trustees
Marge Jean is Chair of the Board of Trustees and also serves on the Board of Deacons. Her additional roles with Mayflower have included the Board of Christian Education, Diaconate, Steering Committee, Finance Committee, and three pastoral search committees. She has taught adult Sunday School and teaches the Ladies Community Bible Study. Marge lives in Bryantville and is currently a Substance Use/Mental Health Clinician at High Point Treatment Center, Plymouth. Marge loves fishing and camping and, inexplicably, loves to mow the church lawn on the big riding mower! |
Rosanna Buhl, Deacon
Rosanna Buhl serves Mayflower Church as Chair of the Diaconate. In addition to this role, she is involved with the children’s ministries. Rosanna is a longtime resident of nearby Duxbury, where, after graduating from Duxbury High School, she was employed by Battelle Memorial Institute for more than 45 years, primarily as Quality Assurance Manager. When not working or involved with Mayflower activities, she loves to read, as well as hike. She admits to a fascination with machinery and understanding exactly how things work. Rosanna met her husband, Richard, at Mayflower Church in 1967. Her favorite quote: “How can I see the glory of God and not be changed by it?” |

Ian St. Croix, Worship Music Coordinator
Ian St. Croix plays a key role in Mayflower Church’s Sunday music service, along with his wife, Beth. He is an accomplished guitar player and singer and leads the music at Sunday’s worship service.
He grew up in Woburn, MA and was deeply involved with the church from a young age. However, his life changed as he walked away and fell into a crippling addiction with pain medication. When things came to a head, Ian knew that Christ was calling him home. He literally walked on the train tracks from Haverhill to the doors of Teen Challenge, Boston. While there, he revitalized his relationship with Jesus. Today, Ian has two children, works as a welder, and can usually be found with his guitar in hand or discussing Marvel fan theories. Ian and Beth live in Kingston.

Joan Robinson, Office Manager
Joan Robinson manages the office for Mayflower Church, and is often the first point of contact for people who come into the Briggs Building for church business. Whether it’s maintain the schedule for ushers, or arranging the church communications to its members via email, Joan is the person who makes it happen. She grew up in Kingston and in Mayflower Church. She has two adult children; they enjoy walking on the beach looking for sea glass together. Joan also enjoys spending summers in Maine with her family, and watching the Patriots. She has a passion for encouraging others in their faith and is thankful to God for the privilege and opportunity of serving Him and others at Mayflower Church. |
